What is the Difference Between 4D Hi-Definition Liposculpting and Liposuction?
Our patients often ask about the difference between Liposuction and Hi-Definition Liposculpting. 4D Hi-Definition Liposculpting involves approaching the human form through the eyes of a sculptor, what I like to call “selective artistic liposuction.”
It is the perfect harmony of art and medicine. Sculpting the male and female bodies involves a careful process that brings out and enhances the underlying anatomy, such as musculature and bony landmarks.
As very eloquently described by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos, “It is the difference between removal and revealing.”
The 4D Hi-Definition Liposculpting surgeon must possess not only the knowledge, but also the artistic skills to reveal the underlying physical attractiveness of the human body. The results * must be aesthetically appealing, harmonious and balanced. Even though fat removal is part of Hi-Definition Liposculpting, it is not the main objective. While liposuction focuses on fat removal and “de-bulking,” 4D Hi-Definition Liposculpting focuses on enhancing and revealing the body’s natural beauty with attention to the appropriate volume of the body’s natural curves and definition.
While most male Hi-Definition Liposculpting patients are interested in revealing the abdominal musculature (or “six pack”), obtaining a more chiseled chest or more defined external obliques, most female patients like a much softer, smoother and more feminine contouring of the abdomen and flanks with mild enhancement of the “frame lines” to create a more athletic appearance.
Some of our patients also desire enhancement of areas that may have less volume such as the gluteus (buttocks) or pectorals (chest). In these cases, we utilize fat transfer to naturally provide a fuller, more pronounced and more attractive look.
In conclusion, Hi-Definition Liposculpting requires the perfect blend of expert surgical skills and artistry. Patients are often amazed by the dramatic changes in their bodies that 4D Hi-Definition Liposculpting can provide.
