Liposuction Alternatives in Omaha, Nebraska
The End Of Liposuction
Is liposuction dying as a procedure? With the advancement of noninvasive liposuction alternatives geared towards “less risk” and “No downtime”, treatments like CoolSculpting “freezing the fat”, noninvasive laser fat reduction, radio-frequency… are flooding the market with decreased treatment times and little to no down time.

It is important to understand that any noninvasive treatment is limited in the results and the number of treatments. What this means, is that the results are dependent both on how each individual person responds to the treatment as well as how many treatments are performed.
We often get patients from other practices that have spent thousands of dollars in noninvasive treatments only to be disappointed, and frustrated, as they are told that they just need to continue to do more treatments … of course at an additional charge.

Noninvasive treatments should be reserved for patients with small discrete pockets of fat and not as a treatment for large areas or the entire body. For example, lower abdomen pooch or under chin fat (see pictures) are small areas that may not need a surgical procedure where the risks may be higher than the benefits.
So, is liposuction dying?
In my opinion, liposuction still has a place for the right patient. Liposuction, regardless of the technology used, is a surgical procedure and should be treated as such. This means: The patient should have a consultation by a qualified surgeon including review of the medical history, allergies, a physical exam, explanation of the risks vs benefits, expected recovery as well as expectations and the limitations of the procedure.
The procedure should be performed by a qualified surgeon, maintaining sterile technique, and always putting the patient’s safety first.
“Liposuction clinics” where the consultation is performed by a “consultant” and not a medical doctor should be avoided. This will only lead to procedures being performed on patients that may not be good liposuction candidates. This in turn leads to bad results and an increased risk of complications.
At Imagen Body Sculpting and Cosmetic Center every consultation is performed by Dr. Jennifer or Dr. Frank. Our doctors provide a detailed explanation of the procedure, risks vs benefits, recovery, expectations, and limitations of each procedure. They perform an examination to determine if the patient is a good candidate for liposuction or a noninvasive treatment such as CoolSculpting. But, most importantly, the doctors determine if the procedure is safe for each individual patient through a thorough examination and review of the medical history. There are NO shortcuts to this process.
At Imagen we are committed to providing the highest standards of patient care while, delivering beautiful results and ALWAYS putting the safety of our patients first. (Please see picture below: Imagen’s Lipo360 patient before and after)
