Butt Augmentation by Omaha Liposuction
If you are reading this, you are looking for ways to improve the shape of your buttocks. Chances are you have tried dieting and exercise, and it hasn’t given you the results you want. Using SmartLipo and a fat transfer to the buttocks or hip dips, Imagen can help you achieve a fuller more symmetrical behind. You’ve likely heard of a procedure called a Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL for short. Imagen doctors perform a BBL by harvesting fat from unwanted areas – like the abdomen or love handles – and re-injecting the healthy fat cells into optimum areas around your buttocks for a beautiful shape.
Fat Transfer to Buttocks
Fat Transfers are growing in popularity. Most Imagen patients choose Lipo 360, which is SmartLipo of the abdomen and love handles, for their BBL for the best possible shape. The unwanted fat from the abdomen is re-injected in hip dips or buttocks to achieve a more symmetrical or voluptuous shape.
What is Smart Lipo?
SmartLipo is a laser-based liposuction procedure that melts the fat before it’s removed for smooth results and collagen stimulation. Only a highly-trained physician should perform this cosmetic procedure.
At Omaha Liposuction by Imagen, we have the most advanced and safest laser made for liposuction called the SmartLipo Triplex with Thermoguard, which protects the surrounding tissues against temperature damage during laser liposuction. Performed under local anesthesia, SmartLipo is an outpatient procedure that can take as little as two to four hours.

FAQs for Brazilian Butt Lift
What should I expect during the procedure?
Patients are given sedation medication so they are comfortable throughout the procedure. The procedure is done under local anesthesia, aka “awake anesthesia,” so you can communicate with the doctor at all times; This reduces procedure risks. Tiny incisions (about the width of a pinky nail) are made and the area is treated with tumescent numbing solution. Once the tissues are numb, the doctor uses SmartLipo to melt unwanted fat. The melted fat is then removed with a suction cannula.
Am I a good candidate for a BBL?
It is recommended that patients are in good health when undergoing any procedure to reduce risks and potential complications. This procedure is not a means of weight loss. Instead, it is a procedure designed to extract moderate amounts of fat and contour the body.
Can I combine my BBL with other procedures?
Absolutely! A lot of our patients like to add cellulite treatment, fat transfer to the face or hands, or skin tightening to their BBL procedure.
Will the surgery leave scars or excess, sagging skin?
Tiny incisions are hidden under your underwear line and typically fade over time. Imagen combines a skin tightening treatment called Renuvion with all liposuction procedures. SmartLipo promotes the production of new collagen while Renuvion causes up to 65% skin retraction.
What are the risks of BBL procedure?
There are risks with any procedure, but Imagen does everything to minimize these risks. The most common risks associated with liposuction are infection, blood clots, or a seroma (a collection of fluid that builds up under the surface of your skin). Contour irregularities can also occur when doing the procedure. A signed consent form is required stating that the patient is aware of the benefits and associated risks of the process.

Recovery/Downtime
The recovery time for Buttocks liposuction can be anywhere from 4-12 weeks. The first 36-72 hours after treatment is the most uncomfortable part of recovery. Patients often experience a combination of numbness and soreness as the anesthesia wears off. Avoid sitting down for an extended period to minimize soreness. You should discuss with your doctor if you can sleep on your back or on your stomach for the first week.
All patients should observe the following guidelines for recovery after Liposuction + BBL:
- Eat a healthy diet. Eating a healthy, well-rounded diet is one of the most important ways to heal your body, produce new collagen, and prevent fat from returning near the operation. Consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid fast food and other processed foods.
- Drink plenty of water. Water helps reduce inflammation and promote recovery. Aim for three liters to a gallon per day.
- Get enough rest. With doctor’s permission, patients can return to light exercise a week or so after the procedure. It is important to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activity to allow new blood vessels to form.
- Wear the compression garment. These are required for all patients to reduce swelling and support the body during the healing process. Compression garments must be worn at all times (except while showering) for at least four weeks after surgery.
- Follow the medication instructions. It’s imperative that patients carefully follow the doctor’s instructions regarding medication before and after procedure.
- Change absorption pads and take care of incision sites. The use of high-quality absorption pads can reduce discomfort caused by drainage after surgery. Gently apply antibiotic ointment for three days then leave them alone.
- Avoid applying ice packs or heating pads. Band-aids, hydrogen peroxide, and soaking in any kind of water (including baths) should also be avoided during the healing process.
